We bought the jitterbug flip phone for my disabled brother-in-law and it works fine. Your Dad will need a charger that comes with the phone and it also includes a charging stand, which is handy. You might want to order a case with a lanyard to hand around his neck and thus avoid dropping the phone. good luck.

The charge base is easier than a plug in cord. Since it is a clamshell it really doesn't work well nor really need a case. It holds a charge for a few days so a car charger is not as necessary.
