I use wool balls 4 of them. When I put the comforter or sheets or towels in I put them apart to make sure they go separated not in a ball.

We suggest using the highest setting, (but always follow the manufacturer's settings on the item for drying), so that it will dry the quickest. Also, not drying alone can help break up a single large item's tendency to ball up. We also recommend a fabric softener to prevent static, as static build up can encourage items to cling and cause the issue you are describing.
