QuestionDoes it hook up to TV directly or to your wall for other tv's?
- Answer I have one connected directly to my TV and another connected to where the cable splitter. All my other TV's get clear channels from the one antenna..
QuestionDoes this device need to be near a window? My TV is in the middle of my house and I can't hang it by a window without the cord going across a doorway
- Answer Nope, mine is right behind the media chest 1 foot off the ground. Picked up 100 channels in Houston.
QuestionWhat does the actual antenna attach to? I understand the cable end plugs into the TV, but what does the floppy flat thing attach to? (Wall?, TV, or?)
- Answer The "floppy flat thing" is the antenna. Mine came with some push pins (there are tiny holes in the top two corners) and velcro stickers for one side of the antenna. You'll need to move the antenna around until you pull in the maximum number of channels in your area. Do a new channel scan every time you move the antenna. The site, www.antennapoint.com, lets you put in your zip code and will show you the location and distance of the TV transmission towers in your area.
Questioncompatable HD TVscan you please provide a list of compatable HD TVs
- Answer It should be compatible with any TV that has a coax (antenna) input.
QuestionMoho 50 Cable Lenght?I need at least 20' in the cable from the Mohu 50 window placement to the TV. Can this be done?
- Answer You will need to purchase a longer coaxial cable than what is supplied.
Questioncan you hook up multiple tv`s to this antenna?can you hook up multiple tv`s to this antenna?
- Answer Typically the Leaf 50 is not robust enough to support multiple televisions without losing some channels or experiencing pixelation. We generally suggest one antenna per TV.
QuestionCAN I PUT THIS ANTENNA IN THE GARAGE ATTIC AND GET A GOOD RECEPTION?
- Answer As long as you live in an area with good access to over the air signals you can put an antenna almost anywhere. As long as your attic has no metal heat shields or a metal roof you should have a great chance at reception.
Questionif i place the antenna on the wall behind my wall mounted tv would i still get a good reception?
- Answer This antenna seems to work anywhere. I first placed it high above my tv but doesn't look attractive. To conceal, it's now behind my media chest about 1 foot off the ground. Amazingly, signal is strong as my picture is spectacular on local channels
QuestionMohu Leaf 50 UHF/VHFThe UHF and VHF channels in my area are the same distance to my house. The antenna reads VHF (channels 8 & 10) but it doesn't pick them up. Is there something else I need to do or buy to get those channels?
- Answer I'm no expert, but have you told your TV that the signal is now a different 'source' and have you run the 'auto program/seek' function on your TV to pickup those channels? We just have the Moho and we get channels 3.1 - 43.2 (a few in-between which has a signal, but no picture), but those are so few, it really doesn't matter - for for the money we're saving on DTV or cable!
QuestionHello. Really looking to cut the cord. Any idea how many channels I might expect to get in my area? Even a ballpark "guesstimate" would be great. Thanks!
- Answer Go to https://www.tvtv.us/ and enter your zip code. The list that comes up is the list of all broadcast channels that are available in your area. What you can actually get depends on how far away you are from the antennas and the terrain (mountains, etc.) between you and the antennas. I got a weak station that is 40 miles away with perfect reception plus all other channels. This is a very good antenna. IMPORTANT: It's very important that you rescan for channels after you find the best position for the antenna. Your experience may vary.
QuestionStrength of signalI live in a small apartment which has two brick walls the signal has to get through, will Leaf 50 work here? I am using my Mom's computer to ask this question and she has given me permission to use her email account.
- Answer Go here and enter your zip code. http://www.gomohu.com
QuestionWill this pick-up WPVI Channel 6 and ABC channel 6 in the 19026 zip code? Currently, I need rabbit ears to pick up Channel 6.
- Answer The distance your home is from the stations (channel) broadcast tower determines what antenna is best. Some of the antennas you can buy give a mile estimate on how far away the broadcast tower can be for good reception from that antenna. My experience is that the miles number on the package is conservative. For example, a 25 mile antenna could work if the broadcast tower is 35 miles away. Use this web address to determine distance from your zip code -> https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps
QuestionI have a cable box to my tv using the cable company's remote. Once the box and remote are turned into cable company I will have to revert to the tv's remote that came with the Toshiba Tv. Is this remote compatible with this Mohu 50 Leaf?
- Answer I just cut the cord. Your remote has nothing to do with the MOHU antenna except to select "TV" as the source. My input choices are: TV; HDMI1; HDMI2; MIRROR; WEB, or something like that. Yours may be different, but you'll want to select whatever input connects the TV tuner to the antenna. I would highly recommend Google Chromecast and Netflix, or ROKU, if you don't get as many choices as you want.
QuestionSo this has the option of plugging into USB of the tv and that then goes to the antenna? I don't have an antenna coax on my tv.
- Answer Many of the newer TV's on the market are being made with no coaxial port and/or no digital tuner. This trend is because many people have discovered the joys of streaming content either through their new "smart" TV or using a streaming device so who needs a coaxial port or digital tuner? Well...people that use antennas do! All's not lost. In order to use a TV missing the needed elements you can purchase a digital converter box. This allows you to connect your antenna to the television AND they have built in tuners also. A digital converter box connects to your TV via HDMI or other means (make sure you know which connection you need before you buy) and allows the TV to receive digital TV signals. A digital converter box is a one-time purchase with no monthly fees. One converter box is necessary for every TV that doesn't have a built-in digital tuner and that receives its signal over the air with an antenna.
QuestionDo I need to have internet in my home or any other devise in order for this to work?
- Answer You do not need internet. Just hook it up to your HDTV and it should work. I recommend setting the antenna pad a bit high as this is how I got better reception.

QuestionDoes it work in a house with aluminum siding?
- Answer As long as the antenna is placed by a window, the aluminum siding should not have any positive or negative affect on the signal.
QuestionWill this antenna get HBO or Showtime?
- Answer This antenna only gets digital channels that are over-the-air, not subscription cable channels like HBO, Showtime.
