“I have Xfinity X1 (with Moca built in I believe). I only have 1 coax that is currently plugged into the xfinity cable box at the TV. Can I use this to get internet out of the coax and still split it and plug it into the cable box to get TV?”

You must first have a modern and or router in order to get internet in your home. If your service is provided from Xfinity then make sure the devices you have support internet in your home. The MoCA is only a network extender; not an internet providing device such as the required modem/router.
