@Jwop, regarding your answer: I am David, the original poster of this question. At my original post time the Best Buy page did not specifically state whether this Moto X4 phone is the Android One version or not (it still doesn't). This is a common problem as there are sellers of Moto X4 phones which are Android One and Project Fi compatible, but they do not specifically state so in their advertisements. That is why I asked the question. Also, if you would have read the first answer to my question before posting yours, you would have seen that a Motorola representative has already replied that this phone is NOT the Android One version. As a result of this answer I purchased my Moto X4 Android One compatible phone elsewhere. Having Android One support direct from Google is important to me as updates are assured. In my experience, Motorola (a Lenovo company) is not reliable when it comes to timely updates. I believe you can tell if your Moto X4 is an Android One version or not by going to Settings > System > About Phone, then look under Software Variant, it should say "google_fi".
