I forgot to mention in my previous answer that, no, you don't need any additional equipment. Everything is streamed over the Internet, and played on the built-in speaker. You do have the option of subscribing to TunedIn's premium service, which will have fewer ads and more contents. Before buying this device, try out TunedIn on your phone, tablet or computer. You can either go to TunedIn's website, or download their app. What you hear is exactly what you'd hear on this device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, can listen to almost any commerical station in the US through TunedIn. I tested out KOMA and KOKC and they streamed just fine. The only difference is that TunedIn will replace the ads you'd hear in Oklahoma with ads that are relevant to where you're listening from. For example, I heard ads for New York City even though I was listening to an Oklahoman radio station. To listen, simply say,"Hey Google. Play [name of radio station] on TunedIn!" You can also listen to many TV stations like CNN: "Hey Google. Play CNN on TunedIn!" You can even listen to podcasts. TunedIn is available on any Google or Android device. I use TunedIn on my smartphone all the time. I'm pretty sure your can listen on iOS devices too.

All you need is the Nest Hub that is all set up and connected to your Wi-Fi. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You might, but in at least one situation the Nest skills only allowed me to listen to one of the three services offered by an NPR station, no matter what you asked for. See if you can find a demo unit to try it out. I returned mine.
