It's powered by 4 AA batteries, so no problem in the event of main line power loss. If you let those batteries die, it's still possible to use the lock with a 9-volt battery.

It is battery operated. Dont have to be hooked to a power source

There’s a fail safe option. You hold a D battery up to two prongs on the bottom of the keypad and it gives it power

It uses AA batteries. You can use a 9 volt battery on the outside (line up to metal sensors under the lock faceplate) if the internal batteries go dead to operate the keypad and the lock.
