I find out the reason why. The purpose of the red float valve is when the pressure built up, the pressure raises the red float valve up that in turn lock the lid to be opened when there is pressure in the cooker, when the steam is released the float valve "lower back" to its original position, and the lid can be opened. My lid has a flaw that doesn't allow the red float valve to pop up, thus no pressure is build. Thank you to Courtney at Ninja's help, I will have a replacement lid at no cost. Hope this experience helps other ninja users.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same problem and it was because I wasn't lining up the arrows when putting the lid on. I didn't read the manual and just put it on randomly and while it does click in place, it's not correct. You will likely get "add water" errors. When you do it correctly you will "feel" it seal and you will hear a beep.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am having the same issue. I even bought a 2nd top from Ninja (40.00)+ dollars. The first time I tried to use it DID NOT WORK. Same as the original top I had. NO DIFFERENCE. The spinning bars were on for about 15 minutes the float valve had constant steam escaping from it when I opened the lid all was boiling, WHY?? defect in the design? Wish I never bought it. Out of warranty, only have used it about 5 times.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have had zero issues. The only thing I can think of is that you have to have the pressure valve set to build pressure and not relieve pressure. I know it's basic, but that is the only thing I can think of.. We've had no problem with ours and has worked consistently / repetitively.
