Other countries aren't giving the game for free. I'll use the UK as an example. Is the UK, retail price for a Switch is £279. Retail price for a full switch game (a $60 game in the US) is £50. The bundle is being sold there for £329. In other words, to get the special console you are forced to ALSO buy the digital version of the game. Some people don't like digital versions of games. The way Nintendo of America is doing it is actually better for consumers who prefer physical copies. To answer your second question, although I think it's irrelevant after the above answer: Switches are region-free, meaning you should have no issues playing games you buy here on a Switch you bought from another country. However, there might be issues if you have problems with your switch and need repairs, as Nintendo of America MAY not deal with Switches sold in other countries. I'm uncertain of their policies with that. In short, just know you're not being screwed over by then not including the game as a download code with the console. You're actually being given the option of buying the physical version instead.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To add on to Jacob's explanation, the US version also launches on the 13th since it doesn't have the game. In the UK it will not be released until the 20th. I'd rather have my console earlier plus my physical copy and preorder bonuses.
