- Answer First let the kettle warm up for 3-5 minutes. Use the Oil Measuring Spoon supplied to add 1 tablespoon of your favorite popcorn cooking oil to the Kettle. For best popping results, it is suggested to use vegetable oil. Then add ¼ cup (2 oz) popcorn kernels to the Kettle using supplied Kernel Measuring Cup. - Answer I purchased the 2.5 oz pre-measured packets which worked well to produce enough popped corn for two people. The holding area is large enough to hold two batches of popped corn if desired.
