If you press the Pulse button the unit will only run when you press down on the cup. The timer will count up by seconds as long as the cup is pressed down. A:AnswerI use pecans and walnuts in my smoothies and never had an issue with grit. I’ve been through (3) nutribullets and the Ninja is superior in all ways. The reverse direction feature and timer are what sets it apart and above. Don’t worry, I don’t work for the company, I’m just happy to have a smoothie blender that meets my daily needs.
