Waterproof-no. Water resistant-yes. Spills, Splashes, Sprays would be no problem. You drop it in a bucket of water, toilet or sea.... You'll be buying a new phone.

The Otter Box is not water proof. I wanted to try the Life Proof case but I've always been too nervous that the Life Proof case would leak. I can't afford to take that risk. Sorry I wasn't able to totally answer your question.

This case is not water proof otter box defender. I heard from someone the water proof case is hard to hear has issues.

Yes it makes it water proof ! I have already put it to the test went on a trip were water was going to be involved and work great I was impressed
