Keep in mind that they can only be controlled remotely if the house has an active internet connection. If she suspends her internet during the winter when away then she would not have access to turn them on/off.
Yep, I control mine while I’m away on vacation all the time.
Yup, the lights can be controlled remotely through the app.
I know with Apple HomeKit this is possible. Not sure with google home or Amazon Alexa.
Yes you can, I have routines programmed for them to turn on and off at certain times, lightbulbs have been great, but the light strip sometimes either will not turn on or won't turn off when it's supposed to do it and I can't do anything when I'm away, so it stays either on or off for the whole duration of my trip. Also, just for the fun of it, I can turn the lightbulbs on or off at different times that are not programmed.
