Absolutely not! I've seen metal usbs go through a lot, and they last an eternity, however the plastic ones are much more fragile and tend to be much less reliable. I once lost 16 gigabytes of work by trusting a plastic use to save my files. Regardless I learned my lesson.
No. NOT worth buying. Mine broke within one week, and now I don't use it because I'm afraid of losing the drive. The cord pulled through the plastic. (Plus, since the drive is so small, you almost have to pull it out by the cord - you can't get a grip on it especially in hard-to-reach usb ports)
That is my concern as well and I don't know the answer. The plastic does seem very thin to me for this purpose. However, I know that depending on formulation, different plastics can have dramatically different strengths and I have to think that someone engineered this particular plastic before making the drive. At least, I certain hope they did. If not, I think we all have wasted our money.
Yes it is plenty strong

It's probably not as durable as the metal ones; but what stresses are you putting on the connector? Insert and remove properly and there should be no problems. I have never had the connector fail.
I doubt that the plastic connector is as durable as the metal one, but more of our products are being moved to plastic, so it might not be the problem that it used to be.
I have had zero problems with it. (I have been careful with it.)
I have used it a few times and I have not had any issues with it. I guess as long as you're careful with it then it shouldn't be a problem. I didn't notice that until I read your question.
