  • QuestionHow far can the sensor be from the bridge or WiFi. My driveway is long.

    Asked by Dressymess.

    • Answer Hello Dressymess, Great question! The useful range between your Bridge and other Ring Smart Lighting products depends on the number of obstructions between them, and the materials they’re made of. The RF signal has a greater range than wifi, but you may have to experiment with your devices to find an optimal position. Here is a helpful article for your review before purchasing and installing: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025181851-Ring-Smart-Lighting-Bridge-Information#How_far_away_can_a_Smart_Lights_product_be_before_it_is_too_far_away_to_work_with_the_Bridge. • QuestionIs there a monthly charge for this camera

    Asked by Jscott.

    • Answer This is not a camera. No monthly charge.

  • QuestionWill the camera work at night?

    Asked by SheRox.

    • Answer Hello SheRox, Yes, all Ring security cameras use IR (infrared) lighting for night vision. Certain models of Ring devices have a night vision feature that allows you to see through the camera in low light conditions. By using infrared light, the camera can create a black and white image that is then beamed to the Live View in your app. By turning the color night vision feature on, the camera will use whatever ambient light is available to try and create a "false color" image in your Live View. This lets you get a better sense of what's happening in the image by creating a false sense of color depth. Here is a helpful article regarding this feature: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038559351-Understanding-Color-Night-Vision-and-Troubleshooting-Night-Vision. • QuestionIs this an outdoor sensor? Will it sound the alarm if it detects motion and the alarm is set to home or away or does it just notify you?

    Asked by dcslim.

    • Answer Hello DCSLIM, That is a great question. Yes the Ring Smart Lighting Motion Sensor is an outside motion sensor. Also only Ring Alarm sensors will activate the alarm. Ring doorbells, camera and smart light devices will notify you via the Ring App. When your Ring Alarm siren is triggered during an emergency, it's important to understand the sequence of events that happen.
