        Answer

Because the HDMI “Version” does not use a set standard, we don’t qualify our cables as such. What I can tell you is the HDMI features that are supported by this cable are • 1080p and Ultra HD 4K x 2K resolution: Plus Deep Color • Lip Sync, 3D TV • 7.1 surround sound • Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD • HEC (HDMI Ethernet Channel) • ARC (Audio Return Channel) • Most screen refresh rates for sharp visuals and audio.

Yes they will. They are designed to and will. They work great with my Sony 4k and Yamaha receiver and can transmit the audio for an Arc channel hdmi. They are the latest that hdmi has to offer and do what you expect them to

            Answer

No... no matter what someone says, digital is digital and transfers sound and picture at 1080p, etc. better cables are built better, creating longevity and quality at the pins (not missing pins), etc. Also, make sure your cables are certified! If you are worried about the picture you can check the quality of your digital feed, etc. and if you have a great feed and want to get a better image then you are stuck going to 4K, but will only experience 4K with 4K feeds. Also, if you upgrade to 4K you will likely want high speed hdmi cables which increase bandwidth, etc. I'm not an expert... just two cents from an average guy! Hope it helps. Andrew

                Answer

HDMI has copyright protection called HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Copyright Protection). If the video going to the VCR/DVD recorder is via HDMI, the signal will be blocked and you will record a black screen. The only way to get around this is to use a component or composite cable (maybe s-video also?). Therefore, this is not fault of the cable necessarily, it's an issue with HDMI protection in general.
