Is it true that you have to turn off the water supply to change the water filter? I have a similar looking filter on my Kitchenaid fridge and you do not need to turn off the water supply.   (3 Answers)

I have the same Frig and I just twist and pull out the old filter. Wipe down the little bit of water that drips out of the old filter and install the new one. Once you push it in and turn it until it locks in place, you will hear water rushing in it to fill it and that's it! The book may just recommend that action for some sort of safety reason...? I don't know I didn't read mind but ya. I hope this helps any one reading this post but I do like my frig, I like how Samsung has been innovative in the frig's features. As long as I get 8 years plus out of it I will be a happy. I have owned it a little over 1 year now, no problems thus far.
