“Do you need a new electrical cord or can you detach the old cord from your old oven and use it? We have a 3 prong outlet and each of the three prongs is flat. Also, the cord you sell online says its universal, but it's 6 feet long. Our cord is 3-4 feet long since we have a freestanding range. That means we would have a lot of cord behind the range. Want to buy, don't know what to do about the cord. Our old cord is connected to a Whirlpool range from the 90's, but it's shorter which would be good. I don't know if it would be safe to detach it from the old stove and connect to the new Samsung I want to buy. Help, please. Thanks.”

Best Buy will not install using the old range cord. If you're hooking the range up yourself, you can use the old cord, but why chance it - You're dealing with 40-50 amps of 220 volts, one knick and you've got trouble. Buy the new cord.
