This TV uses QLED, which is an noticeable upgrade from the old LED TVs. OLED is an even bigger upgrade. OLED will give deeper and more even blacks and may support brighter over-whites in an HDR image. You should go in store to compare the image quality and see if the OLED is worth the price. Personally, I can see the difference when they are side-by-side, but it was not worth the huge price difference. I am very happy with the QLED and do not regret purchasing it.

OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) panels (S90D) use self-lit pixels to control colors of individual pixels to create life-like colors. It also allows the TV to turn individual pixels on and off to create deep blacks for incredible contrast when viewing HDR content. ~ Samsung Specialist
