There should be almost no difference in over all functionality. However, with the Samsung TVs, only the webcam offered through Skypes website is compatible with the TV. That said, with the TV, you would only need to connect it to a home network. Where as with the PC, you would need to connect the PC to the TV, then connect the PC to the home network. Using Skype on the TV basically cuts out one of the middle men and gives you a tailored Skype experience. -MrSamsung
