    • Best answerThe UN49MU7000FXZA base Is shaped like a triangle. The distance between the outermost points of the two front legs is 34 inches. The point of the triangle at the back supports a base to which the chassis is attached. The distance from the back side of the base to the midpoint of a line drawn between the outer tips of the two front legs is 12". So, a platform 34" long and 12" wide is the absolute minimum but it would be excessively vulnerable to being dislodged.

  • Q: How is the sound quality on this model?. I really don't have room for a sound bar.  (3 Answers)

    • Best answerI installed the Samsung in my daughter's apartment. She absolutely loves the TV, the picture, the ease of use, everything really. As for the sound, she's quite satisfied with it, but she's not the 'full theater experience' buff that I am. I have a 60" Samsung with a full Yamaha Surround Sound system. The quality from both is remarkable.

    • Best answerI bought this model about five weeks ago. I'd done some research online and liked a smaller model in the line without the HD. While I was in the store my eye kept going back to the smaller version of this model though...the resolution/saturation of the color, and the sound were exactly what I was looking for. Then I saw this size and bought it. It's amazing for live events, news, animated features etc. For scripted shows and films, I am finding it a bit harder to adjust to the crispness of the resolution because it's a bit too real. Comedies especially seem to fall a bit flat, I think it's because the HD resolution makes the shows look like live action. I still need to play with the settings a bit for each genre, but I don't regret getting this model. My kid (19) is obsessed with it.

  • Q: Is this tv a LED (light emitting diode) or a LCD (liquid crystal) unit?  (3 Answers)

    By EXZACH

    • Best answer"LED LCD". Both LED and LCD, like most TVs and computer monitors sold these days. LEDs, which provide the bulk unstructured backlight illumination, shine through an LCD display; the LCD creates the detailed picture. Here's what this TV does not have: it does not have fluorescent light bulbs providing illumination (found only in old-fashioned LCD displays). It does not have organic-LED "OLEDs" which provide both light and the detailed picture (in 2017, OLEDS are found only on very expensive TV's and monitors, and on some smaller items like smartphones and smartwatches).
