A:AnswerYes! I have a Samsung tv so it connected automatically. If you look at page 20 in the manual, it shows you how to set it up to work with a non Samsung tv.
A:AnswerWe are very impressed with the audio quality, bass & stereo effects using this soundbar & sub-woofer. We didn't really believe the holes in the top would perform as well as advertised and are very happy to learn that they do. We have the audio set for normal television viewing so no special music or theatrics and we can hear whispers, footsteps and explosions very well. The dog gets a little freaked out sometimes so she's not quite as happy with the acoustics.
A:AnswerThe soundbar has 4K HDMI passthrough so you can run the HDMI cable to the soundbar then to the TV. Or, you can run the HDMI directly to the tv then run the optical cable (included) from the tv to the soundbar.
You cannot sit the tv on the soundbar. You can place the soundbar on the stand in front of the tv. Or, you can mount it on the wall with the provided hardware.
A:AnswerAnswering my own question for others to know. Roku doesn’t pass 5.1 no matter how you hook it up. I bought Firestick and that works perfect and passes 5.1 on Netflix.
If you want to cut cable cord and use this sound bar you have to get Firestick.

A:AnswerYes that will work, may have to use separate remotes but will get picture on TV from Roku and Roku sound in playbar when running Roku through soundbar then to TV.
A:AnswerYou can connect both HDMI & Optical Cable, but because the HDMI takes over precedent since you be connecting it to the RCA TV, besides you will get a better sound, like DTS Dolby Digital, and if you're TV that has Dolby Digital +, or Atmos Sound like mine does, it will be irrelevant to use the Optical cable, even my Direct TV smart box has Dolby Atmos Detection HDMI Cable. Even thou this Soundbar doesn't have Atmos Sound, the sound is incredible and clear and bass are superb quality.
Bottom line I don't think you need to use the optical cable, in fact, you can use a second HDMI thru the soundbar to get a higher experience sound when you connect your Game Console thru the second HDMI input in the back of the sound bar and you will forget the optical even exist.

A:AnswerHey Amanda, I've found that we had the same issue with this and other units. A friend of the family informed us of a fix, buy a premium optical cable and use that in lieu of the HDMI cable. That should make a difference! Our sound volume went from 50ish to 20ish.
Hope it helps!
A:AnswerAlthough it would depend on your rooms size we have it in a 18*18 area and it Is definitely worth it. My fiancée is constantly asking that I turn it down. Spotify thumps!
A:Answeri have LG tv and PS4, no issues, simple set up. Just had to connect cable and change audio to hdmi arc in tv settings, LG remote even works when using HDMI cable to connect
A:AnswerChris, you're right, you would need to add the rear speakers to achieve true 5.1. Hopefully my review will be posted by Best Buy shortly, which will explain it a bit further in detail. The ports on the top allow sound to bounce off side walls to achieve a "pseudo" rear speaker sound source, but it's not nearly as good as actual rear speakers would be. However it is compatible with Samsung's rear speaker set.
A:AnswerThis seems silly but, I actually made the initial mistake of not having the soundbar setup correctly. Be sure the “Samsung” logo is on the top. Otherwise, you’ll have your forward facing speakers blasting sound downwards.
Pic attached.
