Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Has to be within bluetooth range of a samsung device that has cell service. This can be anybody's device. From my experience it has to have about 2 sec of the Bluetooth connection to actually update location. (Example someone driving by the tag with a samsung device will not update location but if stopped at a light or stop sign will allow enough time for it to update location)

SmartTags can be attached to your valuables, allowing you to easily find them when you need them most. They communicate with your Galaxy smartphone or tablet using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and have a maximum connection range of 120 meters. If your SmartTag is outside this range, you can still locate it using the offline finding feature in SmartThings Find. This feature utilizes other users' Galaxy devices within the Galaxy Find Network to help you track down your SmartTag, ensuring that your valuables can be found no matter where they are. If you have any further questions, please be sure to reach out to us at Support. -Kelvin
