This watch works via Bluetooth connection to your phone. It can not perform it's functions independently. Therefore, it does not need added to you plan or any integration with your provider. Acually, When I turned my on, my phone (it is a Samsung phone as well), detected & walked me through set-up. Very seemless but does not work alone, without phone. Does that help?
