If I put my very important family photos on it, is it safe for a while?   (9 Answers)

I'm not going to be using it very much other than to put all of my photos, videos, movies, etc. on it about once ever 2 months. How long will it last before I should get a new one or be worried about it crashing and everything deleting? Or is that not a problem with this one?

        Answer

No matter how good a hard drive, it never good to store important files on only one. It is always best two drives that have identical data. It's best to store them in locations that way if one is in a fire or a flood, your data is still safe on the other one.

Will this work with ps4?   (8 Answers)

I know this question has already been asked in the past, but since the latest app "Media Player" was included with the other apps of the PS4, it looks like the PS4 now allows users to play music and media from a USB storage device is what the app says. Does that now include external Hard Drives or are they still not compatible with PS4 if you use the USB feature with it? Another reason I was curious is because you are now able to back up your entire PS4 since the latest feature-rich update to the system. I already have over 500gb of data on my PS4 and the last time I checked, I don't think that they make flash drives that large. Could somebody please look into this and let me know?

This is the recommended drive to replace the internal ps4 500gb drive. Sony will not void your warranty. Very easy to do, I walked my 7 year old through it. He did all the labor

While USB 3.0 is faster, this device is compatible to use with USB 2.0 as well. In fact all USB 3.0 devices are made to work with USB 2.0 too. USB 3.0 and 2.0 both use same type of plug and port but 3.0 is faster and is colored blue inside the port. I used this drive on both USB 3.0 and 2.0.

You can use the portable hard drive on many computers and you have to set it up to be able to go from Windows PC to Mac. When you connect the drive to any computer, it will guide you through the steps to configuration.

                Answer

Most of the time this will work with being connected to a router. That is if the router is designed for an external drive. Some configuration may be required. Please review the documentation that came with your router or look the documentation up online if you do not still have the original docs.

                  Answer

You can use this with multiple devices with a few exceptions. First it cant share between Xbox and PC because Xbox will format it for the Xbox system. It can however be shared between other devices that use the same file system. Basically it will work on two or more Windows computers but not a Windows and a Mac or the other way around it will work on multiple Mac's but not a Mac and a Windows PC. The reason for this is because Windows systems use the NTFS File system and Apple/Mac products use exFAT or FAT32. It has to be setup for one or the other.

Is this a self-encrypting drive (SED)? If not do you make (Seagate) or sell one (Best Buy)?
