Yes, drive is compatible with either system. Please note that the drive needs to be formatted before it can be used with a system, making it to where it can only be used as an either / or storage. If you're using it for your Xbox but then want to use it for your PS, the drive needs to have all existing data and Xbox memory wiped before it can be used with the PS.

There’s nothing you can do about the light setting from blinking on and off therefore its just letting you know it’s still receiving power from your electrical outlet. Hope that helps.
