I'm going to wait it out for a 2-4tb option. Like OP pointed out, 1tb just won't be enough.
Yes, they are working on a 2tb model, then they are planning 4tb after that. But, are you willing to pay $460 for a 2tb model. Or the planned price of the 4tb at $850? I don't think. I will wait until they come down.

Storage prices fall every year so yes storage will get cheaper and get larger over time. And there is no reason why SanDisk or Western Digital could make drive for the Xbox X. This is a lot better than the PS5. You have to take off the cover to install another SSD stick way less convenient than the xbox X. I can label the outside of the drive with the games it has on it an just pop it into the back of the system easy as pie.
If they do, you could just double the total cost of the Series X or S right now, because you'd be looking at +/- $1000 _ $700
