“Online description/specifications says this unit weighs 14.8 lbs. (out of the box weight). Is this the weight of just the stick vacuum or both vacuum and stand? I am looking for the actual weight of the vacuum as this seems very heavy to me.”

The handle part including a battery (without a wand) weighs 2.8lbs. That is the most weight you feel on your hand when you vacuuming. It feels much lighter comparing other cordless stick vacuums. Also the grip has a cushion pad so feels very comfortable. Plus the base locks and there are wheels so easy to roll it instead of carrying around.
