Not sure if the sketch below will come through ok; but I have two speakers set off from the bunch, a good 40 feet from the subwoofer (by the fire pit). The others are in a line along the back of our house with the sub and run the length of the pool. At lower volumes, it’s a little hard to hear the sub at the fire pit, but at normal volumes, like 35-50%, it sounds great. One advantage that I have is that the sub is leveraging the back wall of the house. I literally had the electrician run two separate zones to the same interior room, assuming this would not work well and that eventually I’d have to get another system for the fire pit area. But I was surprised how well it worked. SKETCH: + is a speaker; @ is the subwoofer _________ + + ___________________ +.________ @_________ +_________ +_________+
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it shouldn’t be an issue to set the speakers up in separate areas like you diagrammed, as long as you don’t mind there being SOMEWHAT dead spots in-between. You’ll still hear the music, but it wont be direct with any left-right imaging in those in-between spots. If you want to have two in their own area, as long as those two are not too far apart from each other, it will sound fine. I have mine spaced 12 feet from each other and they sound great, though I do have them placed 10+ feet from the main listening areas. I would try to keep the sub not too far from this other pair, but it doesn’t have to be right next to them as bass frequencies are much more omni-directional than higher frequencies. IMO, its more critical to get the sub near a wall or big tree.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did this and it worked well! Be sure to go with 14 Guage outdoor speaker wire, I ordered from Amazon, will work for 250 feet of wire. My total wiring used about 175ft. This system is awesome, and the instruction video is very helpful. I installed myself, have never done any audio installation before.
