A:AnswerTo answer your question, It does not have any light bleed. For those interested in what the light bleed is, read on. The light bleed issue was a defect caused on last year's 900c model. Because of the the thin bezel, excess light would show on very dark images, giving a very bright spot on the edge of a set. This issue was fixed by Sony before the release of the "D" model. Many associate seeing bright light on the screen edge during night screens as light bleed, but in fact every TV (that's edge lit) will have this to varying degrees. Turning down the backlight or brightness would fix this. Only full array sets and OLEDs are immune to this. To clarify, It's only light bleed if there is a bright area (or strip) on the edge(s) of your set, no matter what's on the screen and what brightness you have the TV on. Hope that helps.
A:AnswerFrom what I understand, the Samsung has slightly lower input lag, but to be honest, I think Sony makes a far superior television. I find the color reproduction to be far easier on the eyes (Samsung gives me a headache at times) and the android tv operating system is far superior to Samsung's Tizen based one in my opinion. One thing I will say though... Samsung does have the better remote.

A:AnswerIt does have RVU capabilities. Like my Samsung TV, the Sony 55X850D is able to connect to the Directv Genie system, BUT, the ethernet network connection must be wired. The wireless connection will not suffice. I didn't know that the 55X850D had this functionality when I purchased the TV, but it is a bonus for me. The Directv genie "gateway" showed up in the list of inputs. If your TV has a wired network connection, you will be able to walk through the process of connecting to the Genie gateway receiver.
A:AnswerHey grif,
I use this TV with lights on in my room and I haven't noticed any glare. The only way you can see for yourself is if you go in to the store and use your phone's flashlight then compare that to other TVs around it.
A:AnswerYes it has Amazon app and many others pre loaded and then there are other apps you can instal as well. It is an android TV and fairly easy to set up your Amazon/HBO/Netflix accounts on.
A:AnswerUsing the TV in HDR mode when the content is not HDR does not help picture quality. It's meant for HDR sources. In fact, I prefer the picture with HDR off when viewing 1080p content.
A:AnswerAny TV would need an appropriate sized mount in order to hang it on the wall.. If you're looking for a super thin version, you might consider something like Chief's Thinstall LSTU for a fixed solution, or the LTTU for a tilt mount.
A:AnswerNo extra space required. Everything is nicely tucked away behind the screen. The HDMI ports are placed perfect. Had the unit for a few weeks now with 0 problems yet.
A:AnswerOk here is the deal Directv is by far the best tv service for home it even outperforms fios. You need to set it to 720p because 720p generates much more quickly then 1080i what you are seeing is bluriness from the time it takes to generate the picture in 1080i In the future there will be more brodcasted channels in 1080p but hardly anything is yet. People get confused because they think because the number is higher on 1080i that it is better then 720p but make no mistake progressive is way better then interlaced except when it is a still picture you are looking at. Also remember always run progressive for sports or action movies everything really. If it will run in 1080p great but if it wont then 720p is the best choice. You can respond so people know this works but I guarantee it will resolve your problem and you will be very happy.
A:AnswerBlue tooth headphones will not connect to any tv directly (that I've heard of yet). You can purchase a blue tooth transmitter to plug into the head phone jack of this TV to make them work though. I have heard good things about this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/aluratek-bluetooth-audio-transmitter-white/4236915.p?skuId=4236915
A:AnswerBought the Sony XBR-55X850D. It has a much more life like picture than the Samsung's did. Picture was perfect out of the box. No adjustments at all were needed. Checked them all out for several months before settling on the Sony. Would buy again without hesitation.
A:AnswerIf you're asking about screen mirroring then only Android phones can mirror to this TV. Apple products can mirror but it requires download of a 3rd party app on your phone to do it. I don't know which app. As far as laptops go, I'm not sure
