• Your tv does not need to be a smart tv in order to take advantage of this product. All you need is an available admin port, and wifi to begin using this product. Simply plug it in, follow the setup instructions and you'll be set.

• Yes you can. My opinion, i would purchase the express . My son has an older tv in his man cave & it has a great picture.
