I have the lowest internet I can get (25mbps) and I have this and an ipad and a desktop computer that use data and most months I'm under 50mb which is nowhere near my 1550 allotment. It also never ever has to buffer on that internet speed. However, I do not watch tv all day either. I would say I use the roku stick maybe 2-3 hours a day.
