Does anything prevent the camera from running the battery down in park mode if this is hard wired to the fuse box?   (8 Answers)

You can change the settings on your phone once you download the think ware app. So that once your battery runs down to a certain video lathe, the camera will shut off so that you can still start your vehicle.

The accessory cable is not long enough. Can I extend the lenght of the 3 wires? Also which side of the fuse should I connect the red & yellow wires?   (3 Answers)

        Answer

Hi Ernesto, We do not recommend modification to our products, as they have not been tested for compatibility and reliability with our products. If you wish to do so, please do so with discretion and with the help of a trusted expert because damage to your dash cam or vehicle from improper installation is not covered by our warranty. Professional installation of the hardwiring cable is highly recommended. While yellow usually refers to the B+ and red to the ACC, the colors of the cables are not reliable indicators. Please inspect the cables to identify the cable. The B+ needs to be connected to a fuse that remains powered on when the engine is off while the ACC needs to be connected to a fuse that will turn off when the car is off. Please also be reminded that you need to enable Parking Mode in the settings to activate Parking Mode. Thinkware Customer Support

Does it work with F800? 17' jeep grand Cherokee fuse box is under the hood. Another question about f800, my cigarette lighter has power even when vehicle is off, if I just use the basic connection will the camera shut off once battery voltage hits limit?   (2 Answers)

Hi Tim! This hardwiring cable is compatible with the F800. Please note that the off-voltage feature is only enabled when the dash cam is hardwired for Parking Surveillance Mode. We highly do not recommend that you power on the dash cam continuously overnight, as it risks draining your car battery and damaging the dash cam. Please feel free to contact us directly by email (support@thinkware.com) or phone (1-844-865-9273) if you have any other questions. Kind regards, Thinkware Customer Support

Had a X500 in a car, that was totaled, last week. Would like to know if this hardwiring cable is the same, as the original? And do they make a mounting bracket. If so how much for both of them.   (1 Answer)

Hello! Sorry to hear about your accident. The Thinkware Hardwiring Cable is different from the 12V power cable included with your initial purchase; it is used to install the dash cam directly to the fuse box and enable Parking Surveillance Mode. Best Buy Online carries the majority of our accessories, including the 12V power cable (TWA-SC), hardwiring cable (TWA-SH), and the X500 mount (TWA-X500M). Please contact us directly if you experience difficulty locating our products by email (support@thinkware.com) or phone (1-844-865-9273). Kind regards, Thinkware Customer Support

      • Question
Does this cable step down from 12v to the voltage necessary for the cameras (such as 5 volts)? I just bought the X500 front and rear cams and want to make sure I'm not sending too much power to them.   (4 Answers)

No video surveillance on the sides. This cable is used in order to let the camera continues to record after you park your car. If you want a back record you need to buy a back camera.
