    • Best answerYes it has an app. The unit is directly related to Verizon cell service where the unit is located. So bad cell signal, no locate service. I owned this unit for 5 days and called tech support 10 times. Try Mastrack, a true GPS service.

  • Q: Can you apply to Lg6 phone  (1 Answer)

    • AYou do not need to use a smart phone/APP. You can set up the account over the internet and use emails to notify you of stats and warnings. Good luck!

    • ANOTE: I bought my first one over three years ago. That I am aware of, there IS an activation fee for the first one you activate. Activation process when bought from Best Buy is a little different than buying direct from Verizon Vehicle. Just follow the instructions that came with it. Normally you have to agree to a 2-year contract when you activate the unit. If you cancel before that 2 years is up you have to pay a penalty. You also have to return the OBD II unit. They told me they didn't care about the speaker unit but I did have to return the OBD II unit. Make sure, if you do this, that you get a receipt showing the numbers particular to that unit. NOTE: If the OBD II unit is past the 2-year contract and goes bad (such as I had recently) you do NOT have to return the unit or pay a penalty. You may get a form letter verifying disconnect/cancellation that says you WILL be charged, but you won't (again, personal experience very recently). But you do have to call them and have it deleted from your account. I have to admit, too, that their customer service is like no other I've experienced in the last few years. I actually received two phone calls regarding my phone call to cancel/disconnect a dead/no longer working unit and my response to a survey regarding that phone call. I THEN received a follow-up phone call regarding THAT phone call, making sure that everything was okay. I was VERY impressed. Especially when the lady told me she had listened to the recordings of those service calls and she apologized, saying that additional training would be given the employee. Oh, and yes, when I called in about the first thing they said was that the call was being recorded. Hope this helps!

  • Q: Is the tracker easy to install? How does it work?  (3 Answers)

    By Senator

    • AThere is no "tracker" per se. Hum+ consists of basically two pieces of hardware. One is a reader (has a block shape) that plugs into the OBD II port of your vehicle. The other is the speaker unit that clips to your sun visor. The OBD II reader is the important piece. It monitors your vehicle and has GPS. That's how it can give you a vehicle location. You can also get stats on your vehicle, such as miles driven, average speed, highest speed, idle time, etc. You may also be notified if it detects anything wrong with the vehicle, such as low battery voltage. NOTE: Location is not exact! For example, my vehicles show to be at a non-existent numerical address but does show on a map to be pretty much correct. I'd guess that it's within a block. Making sure your vehicle is turned off, locate your OBD II port (go online if you're not sure where it is), checking the orientation of the connector (shaped basically like a D) and plug it in. There is a small LED symbol on the reader that should light up when plugged in. In my Mustang the reader is backwards and you cannot see the LED. In my Silverado you can. Can hardly be any easier. BUT NOTE: some vehicles have OBD II ports behind panels/covers. These may interfere with the reader. Check the internet for your specific vehicle Make/Model. Follow the instructions with the unit and you should have no problems. You may need to drive it for several miles before you get a message (email or thru the APP you install on your smart phone) saying that it's activated and working. I've installed four units over three years and have had no problems so far. Good luck!

  • Q: Does HUM require a 2 year contract?  (2 Answers)

    By Tyler5220

    • AMine did. But I've been a customer for about 3 years. I recently had one unit go dead outside of the 2-year contract. They cancelled/disconnected it at no charge. My Father passed away in February this year. He had hum+ so I called to cancel his service and they charged the estate a penalty because it was within the 2-year contract.

  • Q: Is there a monthly fee  (4 Answers)

    By Misdefy79

    • AYes, there is a monthly fee. It's about $10 per month per unit, plus all those pesky little fees and such. When I got my first hum it was supposed to be about $15 per month. When adding an additional unit those would be about $12. I was with hum for a few months and had two units (one on a Chevy Silverado and the other on a Ford Mustang) when I received a letter that shocked me. It said that the monthly price was dropping to $10 per month, plus fees. It's been that ever since. Who lowers their monthly price?!?
