  • Q: Is this backward compatible with Sata 2?  (3 Answers)

    By Joe

    • Best answerYes, you can connect this SATA 3.0 6Gb/s solid state drive to a SATA 2.0 3 Gb/s port on your motherboard. The SATA 3.0 6Gb/s SSD's are backward compatible with SATA 2.0 3Gb/s ports. However, performance will be restricted to SATA 2.0 levels.

  • Q: Will this work in my Lenovo Yoga 2? Replacing a 128k SSHD.  (2 Answers)

    By VNS

    • Best answerThe Lenovo Yoga 2 uses a standard 2.5" form factor for mass storage, with SATA III interface. The WD Blue 1TB SSD (or their 500GB Blue SSD if your budget is a bit constrained) is an excellent upgrade for your laptop - much, much faster Windows and app load times than either a standard HDD or even your original SSHD (Hybrid SSD/HDD) drive. I've used WD Blue SSDs for a couple of years and they've all been terrific performers with absolutely rock-solid reliability. Can't go wrong with one of these! Best Buy has been very competitive and even aggressive on SSD prices, so I'd give them a shot. Good luck!

  • Q: How long is the warranty? I bought this 4 months ago and sata connector broke off in the sata cable.  (2 Answers)

    By Tyler

    • Best answerThe warranty might not cover that. The sata cables love to pry the sata key plsstic off. I gently straighten the pins and used a 2.5 to 3.5 tray adapter and now still use the two i broke. I now only use adapter cables that use the one piece power and sata plug for better strength of the unit to keep from breaking any more. I tend to be rougher than most plugging and unplugging somehow.

    • Best answerThere is no difference. SATA refers to the connector type. they both have SATA connectors. I don't know why they named them differently.
