“Does the 4tb 2 bay model not mirror the first drive? If not can you set it up that way? I'm asking because i want to have a back-up of my back-up, I know the 8tb models do it. Wasn't sure about the 4tb models. Thanks”

Yes the 4TB model can be configured in RAID 1 mode which would provide a 2TB backup drive with the other 2TB drive a mirror image. This setup is just like the 8TB model.
