Dear Valued Customer: Thank you for your inquiry regarding Whirlpool refrigerator model. You may open the freezer drawer with out opening the refrigerator doors. If the installation of the appliance is done correctly, all space requirements followed, it should not have an issue opening the drawer independently from the refrigerator.
