The washer was designed to have both Cold & Hot water inputs. Without the hot water input the washer will go in trouble mode. You can put cold water to both Hot and Cold water inputs and the heating element will heat the water eventually but the heating element was designed to maintain the temperature not to make the water hot.

We recommend having the hot and cold water hoses turn on so the water coming into the washer will be at the desired temperature that is selected on the control panel.
