Martha Coolidge's endearing Rambling Rose comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. There are no subtitles, but the soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by Coolidge, an interview with the director, an alternate ending, and deleted scenes. Artisan has done a fine job with this disc, although the sound and image quality could have been stronger.
