I absolutely love this laptop. It runs everything I need flawlessly, The Chroma lit keyboard looks and feels great, and its so light weight its great for storage and travel. Very few stores will ship laptops overseas to bases in Afghanistan. I am very thankful to best buy for supporting troops, and shipping it to me while I'm over here.

I was set on buying an MSI GS75 stealth until I handled the Razer in the store. The MSI GS75 had a creaky hinge, and plastic everywhere. It was not as well built as my 2014 MSI Ghost Pro. I have never purchased a Razer product until now because of the gaudy green logo and theme, but the Razer Blade won me over with the solid chassis. I also love the thin bezel, tolerate the weird keyboard, and enjoy best trackpad I've felt on a laptop. It is almost good enough that I don't desperately reach for a mouse as soon as I open the laptop. On the other hand, I find that resting the base of my thumb on the front edge can be mildly painful. The edge at the notch catches my skin. I'll just build a callous, not a big problem. I am highly disappointed with the built in power management. The screen should switch to 60hz automatically on battery unless you are gaming. The screen should automatically switch to 144hz if you are gaming. For the premium you pay to have a beautiful chassis and an obnoxious green logo, you should also have automated overclocking and undervolting if desired for both performance and battery life modes. I bought it and immediately covered the top to hide the logo from clients and employees. There are skins for this, but it's a shame to cover the beautiful metal. I bought the 2060 because it is plenty of power for 1080p 144hz FPS gaming. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket go for the 2080, although it only comes in the downgraded Max Q version. Overall this is the best laptop I have ever owned, and the price is 95% justified. Fix the refresh rate switching and battery management and this thing would be as close to perfect as you can get in an RTX thin gaming laptop.

Pros: ● It's running dual-channel RAM right out of the box unlike the MSI GS65 and Aero 15X, which increases frame rates about 30%. ● The aesthetics are the best you're going to find on any high-end laptop. It trumps its competitors the Dell XPS 15, Gigabyte Aero 15X, and MSI GS65 here. ● It's upright firing speakers have superior sound quality to its competitors as well. ● The RTX models have improved thermals in comparison to the 2018 GTX models. ● This is the best trackpad on a Windows machine that you're going to find. The only better trackpad on the market is on a Macbook Pro. Cons: ● Coil whine, coil whine, coil whine. Know what you're buying folks. Some units have less coil whine than others, but all RTX units have coil whine. I've gone through four different units at this point and they all have it. If you find one with acceptable coil whine I'd advise keeping it or opting for a non-RTX laptop. ● The speaker grills can easily be dented. Handle with care, as even pressing your fingernail on the grill can and will damage it. ● Lastly I'll include this but it's not as big of a deal to me personally but I know it will be to some of you out there and that is battery life. Expect 4-5 hours of battery life. You'll get more if you unvolt your unit, but out of the box you're getting 4-5 hours. The only light-weight gaming laptop that gets considerably more is the Aero 15X, and it's riddled with issues of its own. All in all I'm happy with my purchase. The only large issue I have with this laptop and the Razer brand in general is coil whine. Every iteration of their laptops seems to have it. If they fixed this they'd have a nearly perfect product. It's a shame, but it still trumps its competition in 2019. It should be noted that I had more issues with coil whine on the 2070 Max-Q versus the 2060 model I finally settled with.
