Gaming laptop for any laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Want to have a gaming laptop but not have to carry around a brick ton that doesn't fit anywhere and isn't convenient? This is it chief, you throw in a 2080ti and your small laptop becomes a gaming machine sitting on a desk. Take the same laptop and use it around the house, work and school and keep it with you. Desktop replacement requires desktop technologies like this. It's worth it.

Works Perfectly
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't built a PC in years, but this case is the easiest thing in the world to open and close. I added my graphic card, hooked everything up and it's worked perfectly with my MacBook Pro (2018) on macOS Mojave. I use it for editing video and it definitely helps. The boost you get depends on 1) the application's use of the eGPU and 2) the power of the GPU you select. When it comes to the latter, spend more = get more.

Works as advertised
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works very well and keeps it simple. The hardest part is the software on the laptop but you just have to download the drivers for the card in the amplifier. Every time you disconnect you have to reinstall the driver for the card built into your machine but only takes a minute. The trade off is that your thin and light laptop can be a gaming powerhouse on your desktop. I am using Blade Stealth 13" with 1650 ti and a full 1070 in amplifier.

Good produce for what it is designed to do
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This worked well - for what is is designed to do. If you have a non-gaming laptop and want to make it nearly as good as a gaming laptop - this should do it. But you will need to use external monitors to make it work well. Having the signal "loop back" to the laptop's own monitor really does slow it down. However, even with an external monitor - I chose to return it and but a real desktop gaming computer. So it works - but not as good as a dedicated gaming computer - but it is not expected to work that way.

Quiet at last!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Video conferencing via USB capture (ElGato CamLink) always made my 2020 16" MacBook Pro spin its fans up to full speed. Got this and put an old Radeon RX480 into it and I get no noise at all anymore. Davinici Resolve 16 render speeds also are very nice and it drives dual 4k monitors at 60Hz too without breaking a sweat. (A lot of these results are due to the Radeon card I put into it, but you can pick one of them up for $100 or less used)

Great external gpu!!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great external gpu. I used this on an old dell with a paired monitor and this thing works so well. I currently use it with my rtx 2060 and it handles it no problem. 100+ FPS on games. Great bang for the buck.

Nice alternative to a bulky PC build
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking for a little boost to your laptop, this is it. You can throw in almost any new gen graphics card and it will let you game at better performance. Given, throwing that same card in a PC would yield better performance, this gets the job done.
