      Not for me…

I want to go back to a mechanical keyboard; this is a modified soft dome keyboard. This was a shot to replace two failed 2013 Black Widow Ultimate’s that lost LED’s and hhhaaddd keey bounce. This Ornata types fine out the box and is much quieter than the clickety - clack of the Black Widows, but keys twice as easy to press and twice as expensive. The Ornata Chroma feels a lot like the Corsair K68 with the tall water proofing surrounds adding to stiffer keys. A second sore point is the membrane which is twice as bright as the actual keys, quite annoying depending on your angle of view. Shame, have WASD, one color, other functions a different color to function but really just all bling to the all green Black Widow. One good feature of the Razer keyboards is the two key sleep function for PC’s, a dying feature with the gaming laptop craze. Very handy if your PC is not close! Razer Synapse 3 (BETA) causes problems when I do sleep, 40 seconds with, 5 seconds without with Windows 10. This is beta so hopefully fixed in near future. So, still looking for simple white backlit with replaceable colored keys, no membrane glare and no added software. Cheers

I type 10 hrs a day, 4 days a week for work. In translation, that's a lot of typing. Typical keyboards made by Microsoft, Dell, and the like do not last long. Decided to take a page from my gamer friend's book and invested into a "gamer keyboard." If you do the math, the Ornata pays for itself after a year's use. I'd go through at least 2 keyboards by then. Plus, chiclet keys are no friend to me. Ugh... So all in all, the Ornata keyboard is well built. It has a metal frame and meant to take some pounding. And that wrist support though... I. Can't. Even. So bloody awesome! And them lights. I know right?! That's like icing on the cake right thurrr. My gamer days are behind me, but that shouldn't stop me from having a well built keyboard. The only thing I would watch out for is key cap replacement and some of the switches spazzing out. Razer offers a 1 yr warranty though. Did basic troubleshooting by unplugging USB and then replugging back in. Working so far... In conclusion, the Ornata was purchased for work for durability reasons and I have no regrets. I highly recommend you to consider this keyboard even though it's a bit pricey. Happy typing folks!

Keyboard feels well made. This is my first mechanical keyboard, and my opinion of them has changed after using this keyboard for about a month. The keyboard is wonderful and has cool customization options for LED lights and some games can even take control of the LED. IT also comes with a magnetic attaching wrist rest with a fake leather top to it. If you know you want a mechanical keyboard, this is the one. If you are on the fence I would purchase a cheaper keyboard because this is very expensive for a keyboard in my opinion. I always heard mechanical keyboard were great and honestly I don't really like it when compared to a standard keyboard. My opinion on this has not changed my review the missing star is simply because of the cost. If I could do it over again I would not purchase this keyboard because of the amount of noise the keys produce, the LED lights are useless, and it is very expensive. Summary- If you know it is what you want and you love mechanical keyboards buy this. If you are on the fence try someones or go in store to a display and spend 20 minutes getting a feel for it and hearing the amount of noise when writing a paper or lab write-up.

I love the feel of the keyboard, and the look is great too. Just a couple things I wish were improved, however not deal breakers. The magnet that keeps the wrist rest connected to the keyboard isn't very strong. Actually, I'd love it if the wrist rest was solidly attached. I like to lean back in my desk chair, and move the keyboard to my lap. When I do that, obviously the wrist rest isn't easily usable, and because of that the keyboard without it is kind of awkward to hold. I've dropped it a couple times because it easily slips out of your fingers. That being said, it's held up well... (I'll admit I tend to be kind of rough with my electronics/gadgets) Also not impressed with the Synapse app - might be because i'm using a MAC and I don't really do any gaming, but I find that into settings that mess up common functions of every day use... could also just be because I don't entirely know what I'm doing. :) It's got a good feel, sounds good, and was on sale. I'd recommend it to a friend, sure why not.

OK gaming keyboard, but keys mislabeled

I have the Razer Ornata Chroma keyboard with a Razer Deathadder Elite mouse. I have had this four months and it has been an OK keyboard for gaming. My only negative in gaming is that the keys engage near the bottom of their stroke and sometimes I don't press quite hard enough. I am not a fan of distracting lighting schemes, but I do like the fact that I can pick a single color and it will coordinate with my mouse. My biggest issue with this keyboard is as a typist. Who decided to reverse the labeling on all the dual function keys?? I have never seen dual function keys labeled with the non-shifted key labeling on the top half and the shifted key labeling on the bottom half of the key. Backwards from every other keyboard I've used. Not a problem for typists who never look at the keys, but I don't type as much as I used to and do occasionally look at the keys for ?, !, &, etc. Still not adjusted after 4 months and don't want to adjust because my next keyboard will have standard key labeling!

The lighting changes with the game you’re playing!

I tried/look at 8 keyboards before deciding on the Ornata Chroma RGB. I’m a huge/exclusive Warframe player/Streamer. And one of the really cool things about this ‘board is; when you customize your Warframe’s color scheme, the lighting changes to match. Yea, seems excessive, but I truly dig it!! Even when you’re shooting or hacking in Warframe the“matrix” effect setting on the keyboard takes affect and it just looks awesome!!! Now the feel of keys are even better!! It’s like your fingers have NOS in them hahah. As stated in previous reviews to truly see and hear the Razer products I’ve reviewed and currently use. Check out my Stream @ Twitch.tv/therealtwy7ch You’ll never regret getting any Razer products. You’re only regret(s) will be passing up getting one and choosing the cheaper made products like Corsair. Which honestly, that company always gave me issues.

I recently built a razer themed bad to the bone pc and naturally I needed a stellar keyboard to go with it, all this said the first place I went was razer. Said and done I was not disappointed. I was using the razer blade laptop. I really liked the chiclet style of keys and the chroma of the laptop however, so I went on a hunt for a compromise and found this awesome keyboard. It has the shorter style keys and the most vibrant chroma of all the razer products I’ve used. Let’s get down to the facts though. This keyboard is more than eye candy! I plugged it in and it just worked. Plain and simple. No problems of any sort and that to me means the world cause trouble shooting anything on a pc is almost always a pain. All of this said it’s my favorite keyboard ever and has worked like a charm! (Side note for the gamers who are interested in its tactile feel. The feel and sound are both really satisfying)

      Key broke - support nightmare

After owning this keyboard for 7 months y 'Z' key broke and I had to go through support for warranty. Apparently, it was not just the Z key but the whole keyboard was broken because they didn't seem to understand anything I was typing to them. After 2 hours they finally agreed to send me a replacement key. I've purchased a several of Razer keyboards and mice and while I like the design and features, their products just don't hold up for more than 2 years. Some keys stop responding on 2 different keyboards and I have had 3 Nagas that either the mouse buttons stop working or the pointer will randomly only travel in one direction. I wish either Logitech would improve design/features or Razer would improve its product quality.
