Customers love the 350 Sq. Ft. Window Air Conditioner's excellent cooling capacity and quiet operation. Many appreciate its energy-saving features, finding them effective and easy to use. However, some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the remote control's functionality. Overall, the positive feedback on cooling and noise levels outweighs the negative comments about the remote.

The AC seems to work ok but the design is inherently cheap and makes it unusable if you are a night shift worker, who needs to sleep during the day with the room dark. I have never in my 34 years seen a window AC that uses styrofoam for the internals. This lets SOOOOO much light it, it becomes basically daylight. Needless to say i could not install it in my bedroom. Since it would be a big hassle to return with the current pandemic i installed it in a guest room - so if i ever have a guest at least they will get some AC.

This window AC unit performs as expected: it cools the air to improve your comfort. However, it has its limitations. I turn on this unit at night to decrease the temperature of my room to improve my sleep (the cooler at night, the better the sleep). I set it to 62 (its lowest temp setting) and it begins cooling within one minute. However, for every night I have turned this unit on, it has never reached 62 degrees in my room: the lowest temp reached is about 66 degrees. I have two digital temperature readers placed at opposite ends in my room and one circulating air purifier. The air purifier keeps air moving and the temp readers measure the temp and regardless of the time at night or for how long the unit has run, the lowest temp I have seen is 66 degrees. If you need a temp lower than 66 (such as the advertised 62 degrees), then this is not the unit for you. Likes: - Cools the air and overall, lowers the temp. - I like the dehumidifier feature as it does drop the humidity level in my room (it runs on low fan setting). Dislikes: - I do not like (I actually HATE) the remote control as it never worked. Since day one, the remote did not work even when you point it directly at the unit. Why include a remote when it does not work? - I also do not like the thin styrofoam backing: it allows a lot of light to come through. - Not a sealed unit: to improve efficiency, I sealed the window with foam board insulation and used metallic tape to ensure no in/out flow of air. However, the unit itself has openings that allow outside air in. This is inconvenient, lowers the efficiency, increased humidity, and ultimately increases your cooling effort/costs. This unit cools your air, but not to the advertised lowest setting. It allows air to come in as it is not a sealed unit. Overall, I would look into another brand if I need another unit. I would recommend if you wanted a window AC unit that cools your air to a comfortable temp (nothing below 66 degrees): for those of us looking for cooler temps (down to 62 degrees), this is not the unit.

I bought this 8000 BTU air conditioner for my bedroom to replace my old extremly noisy unit. I took a chance on this RCA unit. I didn't even know RCA even made air conditioners. So far I am very happy with my choice. It does a great job of cooling off the room and most importantly is pretty quiet. I chose the RCA because all of the other air conditioner reviews mentioned how noisy they were. This one is the only one that didn't mention the noise level. The only issue I am having is with the remote. It worked at first but stopped. I replaced the battery but not with the correct one. It worked when I first tried it but doesn't now. I will buy the correct battery and try again. Price was also very good compared to other units with the same BTU's Paid $199.00 onlne. Hope this helps!
