Canon accessories
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.A little high on the price. All in all it does what it says and is of good quality, super light and very absorbent to small vibrations and windy areas.

Avoid at all costs -- massive interference
Posted .Microphone has no shielding and picks up wifi and bluetooth interference from nearby devices -- so unless you're going to the jungles, miles away from anything electrical, your audio will sound terrible. Rode has known about this problem for years yet continues to sell this mic without offering a fix....and it can be mostly fixed. You only need to tape aluminum foil to the back of the mic to shield it. Why would you pay this much for a mic and then have to wrap it in foil to get it to work? Rode, this is bad.... Why do you keep selling this mic for years despite knowing this limitation?

Great microphone for house-of-worship application

I'm a beginner so what do I really know.
||Posted .I just go this to add sound to a few videos for work. I'm new to this so its possible that I missed a setting somewhere in setup. The interference with this is intense. Again I have to point out that I'm a novice so there could be something I missed in setup. I'm doing this review to inform other consumers of my experience and (hopefully) get a response that has a resolution. Thank you for your time.

Great with a MEVO
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. We use this microphone with a MEVO. Because it is not powered (no battery, USB, etc) it is not the loudest or most sensitive in picking up audio - and therefore must be nearer to it's source. However, it does excellent at keeping background and side noice out of the recording.

Decent Mic
||Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.Great shoe mount mic. It’s really good for small productions by yourself, but I’ve noticed a weird high pitched electronic noise on my videos sometimes when using it. It’s still better than the built in one, so it’s well worth it imo

Nice, But Keep Saving
||Posted .This microphone is nice, but without the extra power from a battery, it's not quite as effective as the Video Mic Pro. If I had it to do over again, I'd save for a little longer and go with the Pro. It's good if you want to use it to sync audio from another recording source like a Tascam recorder.

Not great if talking +8' away
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I bought to do videos at home when you are ~8' from camera in an open room with 10' ceilings. This mic picks up reverb off the walls and doesn't sound great. I maybe trying to do something it can't do, but I don't know. I ended up using a lapel mic instead which only picked up the voice. If I had a camera lens that allowed the camera to be closer to the speaker that would have worked as well.

Q: QuestionIs Best Buy an authorized dealer? I noticed on the Rode web site Fulfilled By Amazon is not and there is no support provided by Rode. It is easy to buy from Best Buy however if support is not provided by Rode then I will have to think about purchasing.
Asked by CGRetired.
- A:Answer If Best But sells the product in store then they are a dealer. The problem with Amazon is that you have people buy and resale and sometimes the products are international and if that is the case no warranty. Amazon does have distributors that are authorized sellers. You have to check before you buy. By the way I'm not affiliated with either company, just a customer of both that buys a lot of electronics.
