I loved this film. Yes the plot is so thin as to almost be transparent. Yes it is filled with car crashes, car chases, and the most heavily armed but incompetent adversaries on film. But the CAST -- and the ACTION -- make this into an exciting romp by some very talented actors. It is hard to overshadow Bruce Willis in any film but this cast manages that. John Malkovich steals the show as "Mad" Marvin and does as much acting with his face as with the dialog. Helen Mirren is clearly having the time of her life playing Victoria and she is great. Anthony Hopkins as the mad scientist plays it to the hilt. Byung-hun Lee as the assassin hired to kill Willis is marvelous in his incredible fight scenes plus adding some real subdued humor about his plane. Also he introduces the new Gatling gun just released by the Army and that scene alone is worth the price of admission. Oh yes -- Bruce Willis was in this film -- and yes he does a good job but it is hard to surpass this team of actors -- he keeps up because he is an excellent actor but he has stiff competition in this sequel to Red. This is a non-stop action film with a simple plot but with a team of actors at their best and having a great time in the process. You gotta see this film.

In ‘RED 2,’ retired special ops agents are funny because they are seen-it-all semi-retirees. The crew survived bullets and bombs in RED and appear to be more casual in RED 2. It is apparent that Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren are old friends with a past working relationship. Frank (Mr. Willis) is overprotective of his civilian sweetheart Sarah (Mary-Louise Parker) who wants a gun. They work together with Frank’s buddy Marvin (Mr. Malkovich) to thwart a secret international crisis concerning a nuclear device designed by a British scientist portrayed by Anthony Hopkins. The acting is top-notched with some complaisant female rivalry between Sarah and Frank’s former Russian flame (Catherine Zeta Jones). The fighting scenes are exciting due to the world’s number one assassin played by Byung-hun Lee who has been commissioned to disappear Frank.

Opening Scene: Frank is shopping in Sam’s Club and Marvin is trying to recruit him and Sarah – shortly afterwards Marvin’s car is blown-up in the store’s parking lot with him in it. This flick is literally a fast moving international-caper that has so many surprises you will lose count of them but you will be constantly entertained, and it’s 7.1 dtsHD sound system, to say the least, adds to the realism of the film. Best of all, it’s the superb-casting: their acting makes it seem as real as-can-be. So, sit back and enjoy a tour of the World’s power centers in this high octane comedy format, and perhaps more than just once – it will be one to remember and see again

The sequel to the surprise hit RED is finally here, and let's just say its as good as the first film. I love the cast assembled here and they have a blast, and the script is fun and funny, and has some great action as well. I just wish Willis would put more effort into his newer work, but still glad he works. The picture quality and audio quality is simply great. The extras are the only downfall, with a few featurettes, deleted scenes and a gag reel to tide you over. The BBY exclusive does have a good exclusive cast roundtable interviews that is well worth the extra cost.

A sequel that is better than the original

Good quality blu-ray with clear picture and sound. This movie is a sequel to Reds and is better than the original. It has the original big star cast along with an adding bonus of co-star, Catherine Zeta Jones, who enters the movie with a fun, strong and dangerous presence. Again, as I did in Reds, I think Helen Mirren and John Malkovich were the glue that held the chemistry of the "gang" together and came across as truly amusing. Mary-Louise Parker was a little less annoying in Reds 2 than in Reds.

If you liked the first, you'll love the 2nd one. John Malkovich's character is as crazy as ever, but is he crazy or just insightful? It has you wondering whether or not old friends are still friends, or is it just the money. Need to mention Mary-Louise Parker who is always great in the things she does, as Frank's unsuspecting wife. In the end can you really domesticate the ex-agent, or does you past always come back to try and take a bite out of you. Funny, fast paced, and well worth the visit.

This sequel continues the adventures of Frank Moses and crew much like the DC comic this movie is based off of. The plot is not as good as the first movie, but there is just as much action as the first movie, just less humor. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone that has at least seen the first film so that they can get the back story about the characters. Blu-Ray is a must if you are looking to purchase to add this to your collection especially if you own the first movie.

Bruce Willis and John Malkovich are great in this movie! If you saw the first RED movie, this keeps up the momentum and is a great ride with all the same characters back again, but this time add in Sir Anthony Hopkins! Lots of plot twists and confusions, and soooooo much action! It was a great ride, start to finish! Action movie lovers rejoice, and know there is even the love stories intertwined to allow your spouse or girlfriend to have something to enjoy!
