    CD is great, but...

Reload is a great CD. This version, however, is flawed. Search the internet for issues with Track 6, Slither, and you'll learn it's widespread. Go ahead, skip to 3:36 of the song and hear the audio glitch. It's not your imagination, it's not your hard drive skipping. It's a recording problem, and I have to believe it's on every reissue of this CD. It happened on my first copy and on my second. This edition is from Metallica's own Blackened Records label, and if I were music stores I'd stop selling it until Metallica fixed the issue.

Reload, like Load, is Metallica shaking off The Black Album and doing what they want. I am SURE the record company was BEGGING for REENTER Sandman or THIS OTHER THING ALSO MATTERS, but thats not how these guys roll. Of course they DO give us "The Unforgiven II" so.... but you also have to wonder what finger they are playing that song with. Seriously, as with Load, dont start here, go back and revisit the older albums and then come here after Load, its not such a jarring experience when you see that these guys have no desire to be that ONE kind of band.

It's Metallica, how bad could it be

This album is not your typical Metallica, but I understand musicians need to try new things or it gets stale. However, Bob Rock should never been allowed in the same room as Jim, Lars and Kirk. He overproduced this album terribly. Nonetheless, it is some of Metallica's most eclectic music, drawing from Americana, blues and country.

Not Bad And Not That Good

This album isn't as good as Load, in my opinion. There are a few good songs on it and a couple really good ones, but during this time, Hit CD's were hard to come by, anywhere. It' s worth a listen to and they're good enough so that even a bad song by them is better than most!

I guess am your normal wash-out fan. After the black album they started to go down hill. The only song I really like from this album is the unforgiven 2. The follow-up to load which I guess most would call a come back album. I purchased just to complete my Metallica collection.

I think this is a great CD with pretty much most of the songs being big hits or been played on your local stations, with a few I hadn't heard. Some comments of them trying something different, Yes that was the plan, and it works for me again here!

Better than Load, not as good as 80s Metallica

Re-Load is a solid hard-rock album. It's not the trash metal that made Metallica famous (and therefore, it has some detractors), but it is a solid 90s, hard-rock album. I actually like it better than Load (the previous album).

Not as well developed or well known as their older classics like Ride the Lightning or the Black Album, but Load and Reload are solid contributions from the nineties. Fans will want both.
