    (Insurance plan for a high-end mirrorless camera) This insurance plan has a great upside for photographers who will be outside and in the elements. Fair warning though, while the staff and service from Best Buy is impeccable, the actual sub-contractor who does repairs can be spotty. I brought in my camera to specifically get only a basic wet-sensor cleaning done and after two weeks I received the camera back with dust still on the sensor and the entire camera memory erased. With higher end-cameras where the user can customize settings and download applications, the contractor's consistent use of a factory reset can lead to hours of tedious work to reset the camera as desired. The staff at Best Buy however were more than helpful in rectifying the issue and ensuring they receive top marks for customer satisfaction.

    Two years is great because of the cost. If you take care of it, two years would be enough if you have more money, go for the four years.

    Peace of Mind at a Cost

    Insurance and warranty are things we purchase and hopefully we don’t use. It’s all about peace of mind. My family purchased a new Canon Camera and wanted to feel confident that whatever happens to camera will be ok. A Best Buy representative said Geek Squad protection is the way to go and we did. I would have given a 5 out 5 stars but the price for protection is a bit much for such a short period of protection.

    Haven't used the protection (yet). Unfortunately, it didn't cover the rechargable battery that came with the Canon camera I purchased. Trying to get from Canon. I hope it will be worth it if I need it. Have had too many tech purchases (lately Visio TV) break - sometimes the protection is a godsend - other times not. So will just have to wait-and-see on this one.

    I’m sure it’s great- I haven’t had to use it yet- my only issue is having to register when you receive the item. I’d much rather have it already registered when I pay for it.

    Extended warranty

    I always buy the extended warranty because I’ve learned the hard way that with Best Buy Products something always goes wrong. We bought this camera for our daughter for a Xmas gift. When she went to use the camera it did not work. Since we bought the extended warranty they gave her another camera. So buyer beware take heed.

    I am glad that I have an extra year warranty for my purchase, however, I thought that the warranty would start after the manufacturer's warranty, however, runs concurrent with mfg's warranty and instead of 3 years, I only have a total of two!

    I have not had to use this protection for my recently purchased camera yet, but I do want to say I appreciate the services rendered from Geek Squad in Woodbridge, VA. They have helped tremendously with fixing my laptop. I have no worries that if I have a problem, they will be able to support the need.

    Geek Squad Usually Saves the Day

    I will not purchase another expensive camera without a Geek Squad Warranty. They always are willing to repair or replace the device with very minimal hassle. My only complaint is that they often seem too quick to simply want to replace the device and then you are stuck needing to buy a new warranty. You do get a new device though, so it is usually a good thing.

    How do you review something you haven't used and hopefully never have to? And just for asking a silly question like... "how good is a 2 year protection plan" 30 days into it, I give a 4....

    Decided to purchase the 3-Year Accidental Geek Squad Protection package with my canon camera. Nice to know that i'm covered for 3 years in case anything happens along the way, thanks!
