This is a fantastic game that has simply not gotten the attention it deserves. The visuals and soundtrack are amazing and the story is truly unique. If you enjoy visual novels this is worth your money.

This game is one huge hidden gem and I really hope more people discover it because it game is a pure masterpiece. Amazing graphics and story. A must buy.

I do enjoy Vanillaware’s library of games. I’m actually playing Odin Sphere on PS4. 13 Sentinels is another solid title by VW. I rated it 4/5 because it is a bit slow for my liking, but the story is pretty intricate and the strategy aspects are a lot of fun so far. Love the artwork and that Atlus publishes these games. Pick it up before this one is impossible to get.

Another gem from vanilla ware more story-driven and the tactical turn-based combat is enjoyable and a change of pace. If you would like to try something different would recommend it.

A compelling sci-fi Kaiju story told in disjointed chapters. This is very much like a visual novel, the majority of the gameplay is reading/listening, there is a choice between the original Japanese or English audio, but you need to download an update for the English audio. There is a battle (RTS) mode, which is fairly simple, yet I found it entertaining. You can improve your mechs as you progress and replay the waves to make the later levels easier. All in all, the game is very linear (despite being able to change character stories at will with some exceptions), and aside from a few scenarios where the route is not entirely obvious, and can be completed with minimal effort, but isn't over in just a few hours. But you're not playing for the gameplay, you're playing for the story. If you like the battle mode, then after you complete the game, you can continue with dozens of new levels with no story. If you like stories that don't reveal everything early on, can be confusing but also predictable, then this might be a good buy for you.

This was my goty of 2020. Vanillaware does not dissapoint. Visual novel, Rts and amazing voice acting, story and art. Get lost in this 30 hour masterpiece!

Just finished. A wild anime ridden ride filled with epic story elements and some fun gameplay. A weird and unique game experience I won’t soon forget but I loved it!!

Great game that needed a bigger budget to fully realize its scope. Story is great and really draws you in. Gameplay is fun but feel it could have been expanded upon.

13 Sentinels is a turn based tactical mech game with an extensive storyline that involves temporal displacement. The storyline gets involved so you might need to keep track otherwise you would be lost. This game requires clues to be discovered on screen like you are sleuthing for evidence.

Exquisite game. Great story, unique visuals, and I found the combat satisfying. 100% recommended, especially when on sale for $25-30.

About 10 hours in so far Love the characters, intriguing plot and combat systems. There are a lot of characters and the plot is pretty complex but it isn’t convoluted and is organized well. In-game mechanics help to keep track of characters and plot and the way the story develops just grips you more the more you play. Absolutely beautiful art throughout the game, every second is a delight. Don’t worry about feeling lost in the beginning a little, everything will click into place with many “aha!” and “oh wow!” moments.
