Went from a 2018 Intel i5 256 GB MacBook Pro to this 512 GB 2025 M5 MacBook Pro

This is a great product. The only thing is I do not like the design specially in terms of the gaps for fan it has. I understand the purpose but MacBook air feels like more solid in terms of build quality. Might be controversial statement.

I recently bought the MacBook Pro M5 during the Black Friday sale, and it’s been an impressive upgrade. The new M5 chip delivers noticeably faster performance in multitasking, coding, and creative apps, making everything feel smoother and more responsive. The Liquid Retina XDR display is stunning as always, and the build quality, speakers, and battery life remain top-tier. Even under heavier workloads, it stays quiet and efficient. While it doesn’t bring a major design change from previous models, and the improvements are more incremental than revolutionary, the performance jump and upgraded internals make it feel incredibly powerful for everyday productivity and pro-level tasks. Overall, it’s a fantastic machine and absolutely worth the deal I got during Black Friday.

Switching over from the Windows ecosystem, I have to say—this laptop feels like moving from traffic on I-85 straight onto an empty Autobahn. It’s smooth, fast, and so polished it almost feels illegal.
The M5 chip? Honestly, it performs so well I keep wondering if Apple secretly installed a tiny superhero inside. Apps launch instantly, multitasking is buttery, and there’s absolutely zero lag—like, “did it even think about loading?” zero.
The Liquid Retina display with 120 Hz refresh rate is another show-off feature. Photos and videos look so crisp that even my old vacation pictures suddenly seem professionally shot.
Battery life? Charge it once, forget the charger, and live your best life for the rest of the day. And despite throwing some stress at it—gaming, 4K streaming—it stays impressively quiet, as if it’s meditating through the workload.
Overall, it’s an excellent laptop and a joy to use. Yes, it’s pricier than most Windows machines—but honestly, it performs like it knows it’s expensive.

Great machine, but that wasn't really a surprise. Got it for a great price! Haven't heard the fan come on yet, but I haven't done anything terribly intensive yet. The screen is very nice and brighter than my MBA. It's super snappy in basic operations, boots quickly, and recovers from sleeping instantly. As with the Pro line, the speakers are a giant leap over the MBA, music and videos have a much deeper sound. In 2 weeks of using it a couple hours a day, I've charged it one time. Very satisfied.
