Bought this for a home security application. Needed a good sized screen, with a reasonably (but not blisteringly) fast processor. The 2 GB memory might be a limitation for some applications, but was not a problem in this application. A nice surprise to find a CD-ROM drive is a laptop this thin! I have found the HP brand to be reliable, and this model did not disappoint.

Took me a week to decide rather or not to buy this laptop, didnt want to pay no more then 300 for one. Read the recent comments, I always read the MOST recent comments. Didn't like some, made me think twice not TO buy it, but today I decided to. bought an open box took my chances, everything works pretty well, downloaded Modern combat 5 played it for an hour. NO lag, laptop did not get hot. Display is nice, keyboard works flawlessly for me. The only problem I had with the laptop was when I turned it on after taken out of the box, it took a while but I guess with budget priced laptops like this one their always going to take awhile to boot up. After everything was set I turned it off completely and turned it back on. It did not take that long to start up and open to the lock screen. This Laptop is good for home use someone who doesn't do heavy use on a laptop on a everyday basis. I'm satisfied with my purchase. I seen some say the computer is slow I think it just might be their wifi no slooooow laptop here. Thanks best buy and also HP

Bought this for a gift and the price was right, my friend loved it

The laptop is good considering the price. I sent it as a gift for someone and she likes it a lot.

I did not realize that it had such a short battery life. The keys started popping off after only using it for less than two weeks. My 14 year old was using it at the time and did not inform me until a few days later. It popped back on but clearly this should not be happening after two weeks of use no matter what typing style you use. I would not purchase HP again. The last one we owned (which had the beats on it) went bad just as the warranty expired. Never did figure out what was wrong even after replacing motherboard. Thought I’d give HP another try since the last one did last almost two years (for the price I paid it should’ve lasted longer). I’ve had it a month and it does the basics, which is fine for my online classes, but I have to stay close to an outlet. Which totally sucks! I’m not tech savvy so it may seem like I’m complaining about nothing, but I do know what I like and this ain’t it.

Purchased this instead of a Chromebook and very happy. Good buy for the $$

The computer was bought for our daughter who is a junior in college. She dropped her previous laptop and shattered the screen. We need to get her something that was in a price range that was affordable and of good enough memory for her to finish out her final year of school. She’s been using this and raves about the processing speed and likes the look of it it’s got packed and light weight versus what she used to have.

We wanted a decent, inexpensive laptop for my wife to use for Facebook, check e-mails and such. We didn't need an expensive laptop for gaming or business purposes and this compoter meets our needs.

Great laptop for home use which is why I bought it. Has all the performance you need for email, web surfing and other type uses. It is a great price for this laptop. I would recommend this to my friends.

Great price definitely for the quality. Got it just for school and it works just fine, just make sure that the virus scan stays updated or computer will definitely not work. Can be slow at times

I got it for my 7yr old son n it's ok for the price I paid for. It's not extremely fast but it's ok for his needs. Haven't ran into any problems as of yet . It would be better if I get a ssd.

Today is day 3. As previously stated it did come with a lot of bloatware. Once I got it updated and all the extra and unneeded programs removed, it has been working like a charm.

I use this computer for email, managing online accounts for insurance, medical, banking, news, etc. I have Microsoft Office installed on it too so I use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. The speed is fine and the storage space is great. It is easy to use and picks up on wireless connections to printer and WiFi without any problems. Great computer for a good price. I have not had the need to delete any of the "bloatware" either.
